The lot presents an anthropomorphic mask (H 24 cm) with a symmetrical shape of the elements of the face and with an undisputed quality of the resulting composition; beautiful natural brown patina; a red dot on the forehead represents a Tilak / Bindi; an animal fur is nailed to the forehead like hair.

Nepali anthropomorphic mask (H. 29 cm), oval shape, the rendering of the elements of the face is symmetrical with regular features adorned with a beard and mustache in animal hair. The appearance of this mask is characterized by the presence of teeth – a documented but not usual circumstance. Beautiful patina that attests to its long use.

Népal
Bois. H. 29 cm

Masque de forme ovalisée, aux traits réguliers orné d’une barbe et d‘une moustache en poils animaux. La particularité essentielle de cet exemplaire est la matérialisation de la dentition apparente par des incrustations de plaquettes d’os. Belle patine attestant d’un long usage.
