1

Himalayan Nepalese area archaic male moustached mask, this dark patinated artifact has a
double mouth, and holes for both the eyes and at the height of the mustache, probably
because it can be used frontally in both directions, using, reversed, the moustache
as eyes. The face is wrapped in a stylized snake, sort of Uroboro, whose head is clearly
visible in the upper part of the mask. Frontal and Back side view. Ethnoflorence Archive

Deatails of an Himalayan Mask of terrible deity with ferocious appearance, in the popular iconographic interpretation of a classic example. Interesting is the style of the 5 citipates heads overcoming  to the crown, whose style recalls that of the masks of the Nepalese region of Humla. The mask bears a wax seal from the Nepalese customs office dated 2026/1970. Ethnoflorence Archive Collection, Scheda no 134
